Design background: Have been making jewellery for 10 years. Recently graduated from Glasgow School of Art with a BA (Hons) in Jewellery & Silversmithing.
Where do you get your inspiration from? I love vintage objects, cake shops, museums, visits to Paris, French films, Fashion, Flea Markets, London. I love textiles, felt work, embroidery and anything hand made.
Is this your full time job? No, I also work for a jewellery company in Glasgow.
Are you involved in any other crafty projects or organisations? I am a member of the Glasgow Craft Mafia and also the Courtyard Collective in Edinburgh.
Where can I find you in real life? I sell my work at events organised by Glasgow Craft Mafia and at Made in The Shade at the Lighthouse, Glasgow.
Any tips for someone who wants to start making their own stuff? Make things you love, look for inspiration everywhere.
What music do you listen to whilst you work? A variety including classical, film soundtracks like Amelie, Marie Antoinette to Pop!
What is the nicest comment you have ever received about your work? It looks good enough to eat!
Any interesting customers? Liz Lochhead, The Glasgow Writer owns a pair of earrings from my Degree Show.
What is your favourite item that you have made? A vintage chocolate box that I filled with felt chocolates which were hand felted and decorated with tiny beads and lace.
Can you recommend another designer? I love the work of Julie Arkell, who makes beautiful Papier Mache people and objects, combined with found objects, old lace, wool and fabric.
