How to Sell
If you would like to see your items for sale on Hannah Zakari, here's how to do
it! I've tried to cover everything that you might want to know but if you do
have any questions please don't hesitate to email me -
rachael@hannahzakari.co.uk - and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Hannah Zakari accepts pieces on a consignment basis. This gives you the
opportunity to sell your work alongside that of other designers and gain
additional exposure for your designs online without the hassles of
e-commerce upkeep, advertising, and shipping.
To get the ball rolling all you need to do is send me an email and include the following information:
- your name and location
- your website address (if you have one)
- a selection of photos of your pieces and descriptions of each piece (what they are made from, techniques used etc.)
- the retail price of each item
Once I have received your email I will contact you within 1 week if your
application has been approved. Bear in mind that I receive more applications to
sell on Hannah Zakari than I can accept, so please do not be offended if I do
not get back to you.
What happens next?
Once you have been approved the next thing to do is to decide on a collection.
I always leave the final decision on what to send down to you as you know your
best sellers and which items you want to promote, but I will let you know if
there are any items in particular I feel would work best on Hannah Zakari.
I will also email you with instructions on how to prepare your work and how many items to send.
What kind of items can you accept?
Hannah Zakari accepts a wide range of items for sale, we currently stock
jewellery, stationery, clothing, and lots more. All items must be handcrafted,
creative, and made to a a standard acceptable for sale.
If upon receiving your items I consider them not to be of a suitable standard
for sale on this website I reserve the right to return them to you, and I will
not sell any items which I deem to be offensive.
Do you charge a fee?
Yes I do. The consignment ratio I use is 35:65, meaning that the designer keeps
65% of the retail price of each item sold.
Do you accept consigners from abroad?
Yes, Hannah Zakari will consider consignments from anywhere in the world.
What if my things don't sell?
Unfortunately there is no guarantee that your items will sell - It can be very
hard guessing what will sell and what won't. There's always the chance that
it's just not the right time or the right customer doesn't come along, but most
designers do sell items on Hannah Zakari. All consignments are reviewed on a
quarterly basis and unsold items may be returned to you after this time.
How do you pay?
I pay monthly either by bank transfer, cheque, or Paypal for UK consignors, and
by PayPal only for consignors abroad. All payments are made in GBP(£).
Can I use your photographs of my items?
The photos used on this website are all taken by me and therefore should be
credited as such. While I don't mind if they are used for your personal blog or
websites with my permission, they must not be passed onto any other websites
which do not belong to you or to other online shops.
How do I know I can trust you?
Hannah Zakari is a small website, and there are no forms to fill in or sign,
but if you need a reference I can put you in touch with one of my other
consigners who can vouch for my trustworthiness.
Once I have your items I will email them as soon as I can with a list of
everything I have received along with the retail price, a breakdown of the
consignment fees, and how much you will receive should each item sell. This is
for you to double check and make sure that our calculations tally up. You can
expect your items to go online within 2 weeks.
