Who is Hannah Zakari?
Hannah Zakari is an independent boutique specialising in items which are designed or handmade by indie designers with an emphasis on cute, quirky and unusual designs. It's owned and run by Rachael Lamb.
Since opening our virtual doors in 2004, Hannah Zakari has represented work from around 150 independent designers and artists from the UK and abroad and has been featured in many magazines and newspapers including Vogue, Grazia, The Guardian, Your Cat and Tatler. We now also have a gorgeous boutique in Edinburgh which we opened in July 2010.
People often ask for Hannah, but I'm afraid she's not a real person! I decided I wanted the name of the business to reflect my love of Japan and its culture. Hannah Zakari comes from the Japanese 花盛り [hanazakari], which translates as blossoming or blooming.
Shopping on Hannah Zakari
I like to think that shopping on Hannah Zakari is different to shopping on most online stores.
We're a tiny company of just 4 people, and the chances are if you phone you'll talk to me. I reply to every email, package up your orders and give them to the postman. I do my utmost best to ensure that you receive customer service which is second to none and on the very rare occasion there is a problem it is sorted out quickly and easily.
Shopping indie/handmade means that your money goes to creative individuals, you are supporting small businesses and someone is happy when you buy the things they have made!
